Reports from Nigeria

This website is a personal project to report on my trip to the University of Canterbury's Nigerian Montane Forest Project field station on the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba State, Nigeria.

My day job is being the Science Communication and Digital Imaging guy for Biological Sciences at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. This will be my third trip to Nigeria to support the montane forest research.

I arrived at the field station on the 22nd of November 2012 and will be here for approximately 3 weeks. This is after a two and a half week stint in the highlands of Northern Ethiopia (See the Ethiopia menu at the top for reports) .

While visiting the Project I have a number of tasks to complete, ranging from teaching botanical photography to hunting for plant viruses and rare daisies.

I will post daily reports of activities and research being undertaken by staff and students for the Montane Forest Project, as well as details of my adventures. There will of course also be plenty of photos.

See my photos on Flickr of my 2006 trip.
